I had a ton of trouble with my printer but just got it to finally print after days of tinkering.
Under system preferences > Printer I deleted all the printer icons.
Then I hit the + symbol and (with the printer connected via USB) it brought up another window. I clicked "Canon MF4360-4390 (UFRII LT). Then under "Print Using" I selected "Select Printer Software" which opens another window. I then selected "Canon MF 4370-4390..."
And that was it!
Printer works.

I am having the same problem as above. I just want to connect it via usb. I used all the steps. If I only want to print via USB, do I need to connect the ethernet cable. This printer ran perfectly with my PC. Please help. I am pretty technically savvy and this is making me NUTS!

i bought the canon mf4370dn today and have not successfully been able to print. everything seems to have loaded properly (thank you for the driver instructions from canon.ca!!!!) :) my problem is that when i send off a document to be printed - it seems to send it normally (i am connected by usb) - but immediately stops. in the printer queue where it usually says "printing" beside the file it says "stopped" instead. what am i doing wrong? thank you for your advice, i am grateful!

Look, NO ONE makes a multifunction printer that works well with a MAC. You just have to deal with it because there is more money from Microsoft than from Apple. Ideally a multifunction printer should be able to scan and fax from the Mac computer using ethernet or wireless, but they just don't. To scan and fax, you have to use the buttons on the printer.

Why should you have to use a USB cable?

I've weaned myself from 25 years of Windoze but Apple does NOT make it easy when it comes to scan and fax.

Hi Admin,

Thanks for your quick reply. I have tried your solution. I get to the page where the option 2-sided appears and where I should normally be able to change it to the 2 side option. For a reason I ignore, the option appears faded and I am not allowed to access the box. It says it is desactivated...do you know where I can activate it?

I believe you should use an ethernet port rather than the USB port for connecting to a wireless network via the Airport Extreme.

Hi admin,

i tried that and it didn't work unfortunately. I even tried to manually add in my IP address from my network settings but it still didn't work. I have my airport express piggybacking on my regular wireless network (just to extend the range of the router) - it's not actually connected to my modem. When i plug the USB cord into the Airport in the USB port, it is recognized but it still won't print :o(

any other suggestions?
